Fall break 2024 Comic Workshop

DIFFRACTIONS—Commoning is comprised of various events that focus on collective action. The program sequence explores possibilities for resistance and protest through moments of togetherness, engaging with an understanding of space that includes both the neighborhood surrounding Kunst Raum Mitte and the everyday aspects of the location. The aim is to open up and enliven the exhibition space while exploring its community-building aspects. What stories can be found in the surroundings of Kunst Raum Mitte, and how are they told? What different interpretations of a story emerge when a place is viewed from multiple perspectives?

DIFFRACTIONS—Commoning also marks the start of Berlin-based artist Anna Zett’s two-month research residency. The program consists of an open-air screening featuring films by Julia Charlotte Richter, Mykola Ridnyi, and Anna Zett and a photo-comic workshop for young people with Dina El Kaisy Friemuth.
