Exhibition & Events
The municipal exhibition space Kunst Raum Mitte is reopening with the DIFFRACTIONS—Transforming program sequence. DIFFRACTIONS—Transforming approaches the spatial, material, and historical relationships of the location, placing them in dialogue with the present. The focus is on various upheavals—site-related, such as urban development and the gallery’s relocation, as well as political, such as the fall of the Berlin Wall—that have shaped the history of Kunst Raum Mitte. DIFFRACTIONS—Transforming highlights these upheavals through performances, discourse events, and an exhibition. Contemporary positions from partly (post-)socialist contexts will confront the space’s past. Together with selected archival material, the building’s transformation processes and everyday political activity will be illuminated.
With contributions by Jesse Darling, Green Papaya Art Projects (Norberto Roldan & Joaquin Roldan), Robert Lippok, Minh Duc Pham, Katrin Steiger, and Pam Virada.
The exhibition opening takes place on 12.09.2024. More information here.
